Tim Vaughn is a New Zealand based, Canadian blues roots rock artist

Vaughn has been referred to by some critics as ‘The next Colin James,’ but simply labelling him under the blues category doesn’t give him the credit he’s earned over the years, he injects a renewed vigor into the genre.

Since relocating to New Zealand Tim has been busy raising a family producing new original music and performing in several projects including a New Orleans Funk inspired outfit called the Holy Pocket. Featuring Fiona Cosgrove on Lead vocals as well as Co-fronting an original music collaboration under the name “Snake Oil” releasing the Single “Promised Land” which he produced and mixed.

As well as collaborating with old friends back in Canada remotely on tracks like “Last Thing” Co-Written with Producer/Engineer Brad Prosko.

His self-produced debut album, TWO TONE BLUE, was released in 2003, and it wasn’t long before the blues funk infused rock tracks like “Just The Same,” “All She Knows,” and the lead off “I Can’t,” made critics and fans alike sit up and take notice. Shear musicianship rang true, while influences from Jeff Healey, Stevie Ray, ZZ Top, and Hendrix we’re more than merely apparent.

For the critically-acclaimed follow-up, READ BETWEEN THE LINES in 2011, he turned to Wide Mouth Mason guitarist and front man Shaun Verreault for production.

Again, an independent release, and like its predecessor, READ BETWEEN THE LINES was made up of all original material earning him a nomination for BEST NEW ARTIST at the Maple Blues Awards the same year. Songs like “Back Before the Dawn,” “Thirst”, “Leaving You Behind”, and “Sharp Like An Arrow” took the genre to new levels in the eyes of many critics. Blistering axe-work, with song-writing that blended his blues influences with an inspired energy, borrowed from other genres.
